6 Layer Dutch Oven Breakfast


Campfire cooking class at Larsmont Cottages is always a delight with Activities Coordinator Mark Bartell.


2lb ground sausage
1 bag frozen hashbrowns
1/2 onion
1 pepper
1 dozen eggs
1 bag cheddar cheese
1 can biscuits
country style gravy mix


Start by heating your cast iron dutch oven.
Brown the ground sausage.
Add frozen hashbrowns.
Add onions and peppers.
Add 1 dozen eggs.
Add cheese.
Place biscuits.
Cover lid and place coals on top.
Cook for 45 minutes.
Mix gravy in a side dish, add half of the sausage to the mix, and add a little bit of coffee for an extra kick!
Grab a camp cup and enjoy!
