Meet Will Surbaugh: Odyssey Resorts First Athletic Sponsor
Professional mountain biker Will Surbaugh has joined the Odyssey Resorts family and is thrilled to be part of the outdoor scene Odyssey brings to the North Shore and beyond. Born and raised in Grand Marais, Will Surbaugh fell in love with biking at a young age. His very first race was the Lutsen 19er when he was 14 years old. Since then, he has traveled and biked throughout the country but always returns to Grand Marais, where he fell in love with the sport. In the past year, Will rode 6357 miles, the same distance from Japan to the US. He also spent over 425 hours (17 days) biking.
He currently lives in Colorado, where he goes to school. He’s majoring in physiology but has hopes of pursuing a full-time career in mountain biking. Will competed in the Lusten 99er, where he placed first overall and finished the 99-mile race in five hours. Recently, Will participated in the Telluride 100 in Colorado and achieved an impressive third-place finish. This mountain biking event is widely regarded as one of the best in the country. Though he is young, he is proving that he can compete with riders who have more experience. Odyssey Resorts is proud to partner with such a bright star.
