In the summertime, music can often be heard weaving its way through the trees, mountainsides, and shorelines around the North Shore. In the twilight hour of the evening, if you were to follow those melodies back to their source, often you’d stumble upon a circle of friends, maybe one with a guitar in hand, sitting on the outer ring of a campfire.
The genesis of Lutsong Music Festival was borne out of one such circle of friends made up of festival organizers Scott Schuler, Molly Maher, and Chuck Corliss with the idea to bring together a tight knit “community of artisans, musicians, and music lovers alike.”
The second annual Lutsong Music Festival will be held July 13-16th with music performed on stages at Caribou Highlands Lodge and the North Shore Winery throughout the four day music festival. On Saturday, in addition to music, festival patrons can join Sarah Morris for a morning hike and concert on the Lawn and browse the Artist Vendor Village. On Sunday evening, patrons are encouraged join the Weekend Wine Down at the North Shore Winery.
On Friday and Saturday Night, after a full days’ worth of music, circle around the campfire at Caribou Highlands with your new friends and take part in the Caribou Campfire Guitar Pull.
According to Lutsong Music Festival organizer, Scott Schuler, it’s a “great opportunity to pull out the guitar and to trade songs with one another.” Ending the night with musicians joining in song together with festival patrons and organizers circling back to the origins of the festival itself.
The Lutsong Music Festival is about building new connections the North Shore while sharing some songs and laughs together on the mountain. Scott emphasizes, “You don’t have to be a professional to join in” on the fun and be a part of this ever-expanding circle of friends and community.
Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite and festival patrons will also receive a special Caribou Highlands Lodging Discount Code once festival ticket purchase is complete. Free admission is available for kids ages 12 & under.
