#2 Alpine & Cross-Country Skiing

The North Shore is the perfect canvas for skiing recreation. Head to Spirit Mountain or Lutsen Mountains for a day on the slopes. Stay slopeside at Caribou Highlands Lodge on Lutsen Mountains or stay just up the road at East Bay Suites in Grand Marais.

#3 Skijoring

This activity is perfect for dog lovers. Skijoring is a fast-growing winter activity that combines cross country skiing and dog sledding. Originating in Scandinavia and literally meaning “ski-driving” in Norwegian, skijoring allows a dog and owner to exercise and travel together while enjoying the outdoors.
