Fried walleye is a Minnesota classic. But why not spice it up a little with some Cajun flavors and a dash of Northern gold?
Ingredients:
Your catch of the day (filleted)
Cooking Oil
Maple Syrup
For the Seasoning:
1 ½ Tbs paprika
1 Tbs garlic powder
1 Tbs onion powder
1 Tbs ground dried thyme
1 tsp ground black pepper
½–1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
Instructions:
Mix allspices in a bowl
Rinse the fish fillets and pat dry
Coat fish with spice mix on both sides
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat
Sear fish until blackened, 2-3 minutes
Flip the fish and drizzle maple syrup over it
Sear for another 2–3 minutes or until flaky
Serve with yellow rice.
