Fried walleye is a Minnesota classic. But why not spice it up a little with some Cajun flavors and a dash of Northern gold?

Ingredients:​
Your catch of the day (filleted)​
Cooking Oil​
Maple Syrup​

For the Seasoning:​
1 ½ Tbs paprika​
1 Tbs garlic powder​
1 Tbs onion powder​
1 Tbs ground dried thyme​
1 tsp ground black pepper​
½–1 tsp cayenne pepper​
1 tsp dried basil​
1 tsp dried oregano​

Instructions:​
Mix allspices in a bowl​
Rinse the fish fillets and pat dry​
Coat fish with spice mix on both sides​
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat​
Sear fish until blackened, 2-3 minutes​
Flip the fish and drizzle maple syrup over it​
Sear for another 2–3 minutes or until flaky​

Serve with yellow rice.
