Lutsen Hikes from Caribou Highlands
Distance: 5 miles round trip
Take an easy walk up Ski Hill Road and board the tram to the top of Moose Mountain. Take in panoramic vistas of Lake Superior, Moose Mountain, and the Sawtooth Mountain Range. Grab a picnic lunch and walk the pathways at the top of Moose Mountain or start on the Superior Hiking Trail and hike the 3.6-mile trail through the maple forest down through the Poplar River Valley.
This hike will take you through the cozy neighborhood of Lakeside on your way to Kitchi Gammi Park. Since this is a longer hike we recommend you stop at Amity Coffee for snacks and caffeine. If you’re looking for something more substantial check out New London Cafe or Sammy’s Pizza.
Yeah, 1o miles makes for a long walk. But it’s only an hour by bike. You knew your stay includes complimentary bike rentals, right?
